What sets us
Our program challenges all the old assumptions about alcoholism and drug addiction.
At CHRC, our approach to recovery is vastly different from traditional recovery models. We address the underlying neurological and biochemical imbalances that counselling alone cannot heal. The biochemistry that drives addictive behaviour and the physiological damage caused by substance abuse must be treated for lasting recovery to occur.
CHRC is a drug and alcohol addiction treatment centre unlike any other in Ontario, Canada. Our team of skilled clinicians and specialists deal expressly with the complexities of restoring the mind, body and spirit with a program that promotes recovery on several pivotal levels: biochemical, neurological, psychological, emotional, physical, nutritional and spiritual.
We treat drug and alcohol dependency and behavioural addictions, including concurrent mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, without prescribing psychotropic drugs.
We will help you throw away the guilt and anxiety, and we will address the fear, misconceptions and limiting beliefs that surround chemical dependency and prevent true and lasting recovery.
Our program works where others don’t. We have clients that tried other treatment programs and then found the help they needed at CHRC. Click here to read their testimonials.
We will help you build new truths, new relationships and a new outlook on life.
The evolution of addiction treatment is here
Premier private care for men
Change Is Possible
Change is possible. Even the most habitual behaviour can be changed. Through advancements in science and brain imaging, we know that the brain can be re-wired and new neural pathways can be developed. With the right treatment, the chains of addiction can be broken.
The Canadian Health Recovery Centre is a private addiction treatment center set on 14 wooded acres, designed exclusively to care for men with substance abuse and dependence problems.
We treat the underlying causes of addiction. We are not a 12-step program.
Utilizing the latest in scientific research, proven effective treatment modalities and innovative, holistic therapeutic methods, our integrative team of addiction specialists work together to help transform the lives of our clients through a structured program of individual counselling, group therapy, substance abuse education, family support and extended aftercare.
No one chooses addiction – but you can choose to recover.
We provide the tools needed to live your best life.
Reaching out and asking for help is the first step toward lifelong sobriety. With the proper treatment, in the right environment, change is possible and lives can be transformed.
Why Orthomolecular Treatment?
The missing link between addiction and recovery.
When the biochemical conditions of substance abuse are treated in conjunction with counseling, success rates are measurably greater than with traditional talk therapy treatment programs. We know that certain biochemical imbalances exist that can make a person more prone to the cycle of addiction and that the biochemistry of a person a chemical addiction is different than the biochemistry of someone who is not dependant on drugs or alcohol.
Because some people are predisposed to addictive behaviour on a biochemical level, abstinence and talk therapy alone are often imperfect interventions for long-term recovery.
At CHRC, an Ontario alcohol, addiction, and drug rehab centre, we address the biochemical deficiencies and imbalances that can make an individual prone to addiction and relapse. With orthomolecular nutrition, we nourish and rebalance the body in order to support its capacity to heal itself, which provides the foundation for physical and emotional healing, normalized neurotransmitter function – and paves the way for talk therapy to be more effective.

The Making of Recovery was filmed at the Canadian Health Recovery Centre. Since its release in March 2017, the 26-minute piece has accumulated 21 film nominations.
It has taken home numerous awards including the South Georgian Bay Film Festival’s top prize of Master Overall Award and the Award of Merit: Documentary Short in the Best Shorts Competition in Los Angeles.
The documentary was created and filmed by Matthew Gillespie, who checked-in to CHRC in 2016 to treat his anxiety and depression. During his time there, he was inspired to tell the stories of those recovering, in hopes of encouraging others to seek help.
